This new cross "Green Pastures" was done by Texas Hill Country Artist Juli Koroly

"Green Pastures"
encaustic cross
9"X 7"

This cross was done using a new technique to enhance the colors that I envision when reading the 23rd Psalm. I used a specialty thread to emphasis the strength of the valley  we walk in.

This is a new painting in my cross series. I used the purples and golds to denote power. The surface is very tactile due to the texture that the wax affords.

Christmas greetings from Juli Koroly

Jesus is the reason for the Seasons!

This is a mixed media piece I did several years ago in memory of the cantata our choir performed. Each Christmas I celebrate the journey to Bethlehem and the birth of Christ.

I love the intensity of the green and blue that are accentuated by the white. I wanted to capture the colors of the pasture I walked in the Hill Country of Texas.

When I was in Santa Fe I picked up some fantastic wax.  I picked colors that I felt would help me remember those that I saw on my trip.

This cross combined a piece of hand printed cotton and a medallion
that  I made with the same wax that I used for the body of the cross. Each cross is first layered three times with bee's wax before the color and design is applied.
